Arsenal suffers Jesus pursuit after Manchester City him to Real Madrid
Arsenal suffers Jesus pursuit after Manchester City him to Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid amid huge salary demands.
Arsenal’s chances of signing Gabriel Jesus this summer have been severely harmed, according to a fresh report claiming that the Manchester City player has been offered to both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.
The striker is expected to depart the Premier League champions in the coming weeks, but any deal will be delayed by his exorbitant wage demands.
Jesus’ current contract at Manchester City expires in just over a year, and he has been linked with a summer move to Arsenal.
However, Jesus has other big-name European suitors, and interest from Spain might derail Arteta’s plans to bring Jesus to London, especially because the Gunners are unable to provide him Champions League play.
Arsenal suffers Jesus pursuit
A new report from Cadena Ser has claimed that Jesus has been ‘offered’ to both Atletico and Real, although it is unclear if either club are interested in rivaling Arsenal for the City ace’s signature.
The report goes on to outline that the 25-year-old is demanding a whopping €5million (£4.3m) salary after-tax, which could deter the Spanish giants – and other interested clubs – from pursuing a summer move.
Arsenal, anxious for attacking reinforcements before the new Premier League season, are unlikely to be deterred by Jesus’ exorbitant salary demands.
According to previous rumors, the Gunners were ‘closing close’ on a deal with Jesus, who has announced that he will begin the process of deciding his future this week.
City is expected to seek roughly £50 million to enable Jesus to go this summer, despite the fact that the striker would be free to leave Manchester for nothing next year.
