Manchester City identifies Recce James as a replacement for Walker

Manchester City identifies Chelsea player, Recce James who’s rated at £46.7 as Kyle Walker’s replacement.

Kyle Walker, 32 years old, has missed 26 games in all competitions last season and has two years left on his Manchester City contract, so he could be nearing the end of his career.

The England international found himself behind Joao Cancelo in the pecking order at times and will eventually need replacing.

It has now emerged that Manchester City have identified Recce James as a replacement for Kyle Walker.

Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail said James has an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge as he’s yet to enter talks over a new deal.

City and Real Madrid are keeping an eye on the situation, but the former may have a fervent need to sign him.

James ascended through the Chelsea youth system to the first team, scoring two goals and eight assists in 42 games with the U18s, three assists in eight games with the U19s, and four goals and three assists in 29 games with the U23s.

The £46.7m-rated 22-year-old has gone on to make 123 professional appearances, scoring nine goals and assisting on 18 occasions.

Last season, James played in 39 games across the board, scoring five league goals and assisting nine times more than Jack Grealish (3-3), so he’d be a fantastic addition to the squad.

It remains to be seen whether City will sign him, given his present contract expires in 2025.
