Fabrizio Romano reveals Arsenal trying to reach an agreement with their ‘main’ transfer target ‘today’ in crunch Man City talks.

Arsenal are reportedly expected to hold crunch talks with Manchester City today (Thursday) in a bid to tempt Gabriel Jesus to the Emirates.

Jesus has been tipped to join Arsenal, although a breakthrough in talks has yet to be reached.

However, according to trade guru Fabrizio Romano’s Caught Offside column, City will contact them again today in an attempt to sign the Brazilian.

According to Romano, Jesus remains Arsenal’s primary offensive target heading into the new season. If a deal for the attacker cannot be struck, the Gunners will move on to other targets in their search for a striker.

Romano further states that Jesus will ‘100 percent’ leave City, citing his desire to start for a top team.

Fabrizio Romano wrote:

“Gabriel Jesus is still the main target of Arsenal as of today. In the next few hours there will be new contacts to understand if they can reach an agreement or move to other targets. There is not only Arsenal on Gabriel, who will leave Man City at 100%.

“He’s a top player who wants to start matches, and it’s not too surprising to see him take his time over a decision on his future.”

Jesus discussed his future following City’s dramatic Premier League title win in May.

“About my future, it’s still uncertain,” Jesus told ESPN at the end of the season.
