Raila preferred presidential candidate in Nairobi with George Wajackoyah gaining popularity according to Tifa polls.
Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate of the Azimio la Umoja party, is the most popular candidate in Nairobi, according to Tifa Research.
Raila has a 50 percent approval rating, while Deputy President William Ruto has a 25 percent approval rating, according to survey data released on Tuesday.
George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party comes in third with 7% of the vote.
“This clear popularity gap of both ODM and Azimio is also reflected in the support-distribution for the main presidential candidates, with ODM’s Raila Odinga’s at twice the level of UDA’s William Ruto (50% vs. 25%),” TIFA stated.
The poll further shows Raila’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party’s popularity increased from 26 percent to 30 percent while UDA’s has remained constant at 22 percent.
Jubilee party’s popularity in Nairobi county also is at four percent.
For the Nairobi gubernatorial race, Kenya Kwanza’s Johnson Sakaja leads with 40 percent, with his rival, Azimio’s Polycarp Igathe at 32 percent.
In the Senatorial race, ODM Edwin Sifuna UDA’s Bishop Margaret Wanjiru (27 percent vs 9 percent).
Incumbent Woman Representative, Esther Passaris of ODM is leading UDA’s Millicent Omanga (32 percent against 19 percent).
The poll was conducted by a sample size of 632 respondents across 17 constituencies in Nairobi county.
However, 18 percent of those interviewed remain undecided on who to vote for.
The poll has a margin error of +/-3.8 percent.
