Brighton chairman breaks silence on Man City transfer target Marc Cucurella

Brighton chairman, Tony Bloom has issued the club’s stance on Man City transfer target Marc Cucurella.
Marc Cucurella has been linked with a move away from Brighton to join Manchester City this transfer summer.
However, it seems that Brighton are keen to hold on to the Spaniard, with their chairman issuing a blunt update to official club media.
Tony Bloom revealed that despite transfer speculation, Pep’s side has not made a bid for Marc Cucurella.
Asked if he could reassure fans over Cucurella’s future, Bloom said: “All I can say about Marc is he is a tremendous player, a tremendous person.
“He’s brilliant for the dressing room, the players love him. Graham [Potter] and the coaches love him. I love him, the fans love him.
“He was unbelievably good last season, his first season in the Premier League. We’re hoping for more to come, and we haven’t had a bid for him.”
Meanwhile, Manchester City are reportedly set to step up their pursuit of his signature this summer.
Given that the Citizens have already signed Erling Braut Haaland, Kalvin Phillips, and Stefan Ortega to their roster this summer, the 23-year-old is now said to be Pep Guardiola’s top priority.
Inside Futbol quotes Italian broadcaster Rudy Galetti as saying that negotiations between the two teams have stalled and no deal has been reached, with Brighton holding out for at least £45 million.
The Premier League winners, though, are reportedly keen to speed up their chase of the Spaniard and are prepared to match Brighton’s asking price, according to the article.
