Chelsea have reportedly missed out on the chance to sign Leeds winger Raphinha, as he’s set to join Barcelona.
Leeds and Chelsea had agreed on a fee for Raphinha, with just personal terms to be finalized.
Barcelona were also interested in the Brazilian, and it now appears they’ve won the race to sign him.
Daily Mail journalist Mike Keegan claims Raphinha is now off to the Spanish club after striking a transfer deal.
Chelsea announcement on Raheem Sterling
However, Chelsea are set to make an official announcement for a new signing, Raheem Sterling.
He is expected to link up with the Chelsea squad this week, as he edges closer to completing a deal.
Missing out on Raphinha will be disappointing for Chelsea fans, but securing Sterling who recently won the league with Manchester City will soften the blow.
It will be the first signing under the Todd Boehly era as it’s taken some time to come.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Raheem Sterling will soon be arriving from Manchester City after he completed the first part of his medical last night.
As Romano says, it is just a matter of time now before the official statement arrives from the club to confirm him as an official new Chelsea player.
Contract until 2027 with an option to extend.
