Chelsea agree personal terms with Leicester defender Wesley Fofana after Jules Kounde’s snub
Chelsea agree personal terms with Leicester defender Wesley Fofana after losing Jules Kounde’s transfer to Barcelona.
Chelsea is now officially out of the running to sign French international Jules Kounde.
Kounde was extensively linked to the Blues until Barca once again outbid them.
Despite rumored continuous talks with the side, ultimately Barcelona has caught the eye of the young ace, and Kounde looks destined to play in Spain next season.
Transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that there has been a deal agreed verbally for the Frenchman.
However, Chelsea have quickly dusted themselves down and turned their attention to Leicester’s Wesley Fofana, who has reportedly agreed on personal terms with the West Londoners.
A fee will now have to be agreed with the Foxes in order for the transfer to go through.
Thomas Tuchel’s side is short of defensive options after the departure of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.
Chelsea manager is likely to still want at least one more center-half this transfer window after signing Napoli center-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
And now the 21-year-old, Wesley Fofana has reportedly come to an agreement with the Blues despite the Foxes being resistant to the move.
The young defender has found himself in Chelsea’s scope after a deal Sevilla star Jules Kounde broke down.
