Bobi Wine meets Raila Odinga ahead of election day
Bobi Wine meets Raila Odinga during his observer mission for Brenthurst Foundation ahead of election day on Tuesday.
On Sunday, August 7, Bobi Wine who vied for Uganda’s presidency in 2021, is in Kenya as an observer for the much-awaited August 9 General Election.
The Ugandan singer-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi, better known as Bobi Wine is elated after meeting Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga ahead of the election.
He said it was a pleasure meeting and having a candid conversation with the former prime minister.
“As part of our mission to observe the #KenyaDecides2022 this Tuesday, I was glad 2 meet & interact w/ Presidential Candidate Rt. Hon. @RailaOdinga. Another part of our team met w/ Candidate @WilliamsRuto. Wishing the great ppl of Kenya a free, fair, credible, and peaceful election [sic],” Bobi wrote on Twitter.
He wished Kenyans free and fair election Wine.
Bobi who was accompanied by Kizza Besigye revealed that some of his colleagues had met Deputy President William Ruto wishing the country the best.
“Another part of our team yesterday met with presidential Candidate William Ruto. Wishing the great people of Kenya a free, fair, credible, and peaceful election,” he added.
The Elections Observation Group (ELOG) said on Saturday that it will send 5,108 observers to polling stations across the country.
According to ELOG, 3,050 of them will be general observers, while 1,000 observers for the Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) will act as stationery observers on election day.
A joint election observation committee that will primarily be responsible for examining the General Election’s conduct has been formally commissioned by both the African Union (AU) and the Common Market for Southern and Eastern Africa (COMESA).
