IEBC verification official bumped altering presidential results from his laptop leading to a commotion at Bomas on Friday night.
Even with mistrust among the presidential candidates’ agents, IEBC officials at the verification desks are now accused of colluding with some party agents to interfere with the process.
On Friday, 12, August, there was a commotion at the Bomas of Kenya auditorium, after Azimio coalition agents accused an IEBC verification official of allegedly altering the results from his laptop.
One of the presidential candidate agent raised the alarm after bumping into the IEBC official and other unidentified persons in the backroom of the tallying room, drawing the attention of the electoral agency commissioners and security.
She confiscated the laptop from the IEBC official even as the official moved in a huff back to the voter verification table where he had been confirming the results.
IEBC Commissioner, Prof Abdi Guliye, later intervened and summoned the official together with the complainants for interrogation.
The verification of constituency presidential results is ongoing at the Bomas of Kenya.
The process started on Thursday.
And as of Saturday morning, a total of 50 of the 290 constituencies had been verified.
