Arsenal First Summer Signing To Be Confirmed, ‘Preparing paperwork’, Fabrizio Romano Has Reported.

Arsenal are close to completing the signing of Marquinhos, a Brazilian youth, with the deal expected to be completed over the weekend.

That is, according to Fabrizio Romano, who confirmed on Twitter this morning that the Gunners are drafting paperwork for the deal, implying that an announcement will be made soon.

According to reports in the previous few days, Arsenal moved rapidly to recruit Marquinhos from So Paulo after learning of his contract status in Brazil.

Arsenal is expected to pay a cheap fee of approximately £3 million for the young South American, according to a tweet from Romano.

The Gunners are one of few teams interested in learning more about the South American market.

Arsenal recently signed Gabriel Martinelli, while other clubs, such as Manchester City, have recently signed players like Kayky.

Marquinhos is not expected to go straight into the starting squad for Mikel Arteta and is seen as a player for the future at Arsenal.

However, that could change when he arrives, with the club no doubt keen to take a closer look at the Brazilian.
