Azimio releases a fully packed Raila’s campaign timetable for the last 13 days
Raila’s campaign timetable for the last 13 days ahead of the August general elections; scheduled to hold several rallies in 13 counties.
With 12 days to the August 9 General Election, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party has publicized the itinerary of campaign activities.
The coalition plans to hold several major rallies in fourteen major towns across the country.
In a statement released on Tuesday, July 26, Azimio la Umoja Secretary General Junet Mohamed invited their supporters to attend the rallies lined up.
“We are now 13 days away from the 2022 general election. As we continue our grand march to freedom on August 9 20022, the Azimio team has scheduled a series of fourteen 14 rallies all over the country beginning today in Meru as part of this historic journey to a fair, just, prosperous and inclusive nation,” Junet said.
Raila’s campaign timetable
The rallies are set to run from July 26 to August 6 when the campaigning period will come to an end.
Nyeri/Laikipia Counties
On Wednesday, July 27, the Azimio team is headed to Nyeri County, where they are set to hold a major rally at Ruringu Stadium.
Raila will then proceed to Laikipia County, where Governor Ndiritu Murithi will host him in Nanyuki town for a series of stopover rallies.
Nakuru County
On Thursday, July 28, the ODM leader is headed to the populous Nakuru County, where he is set to hold a mega rally at the historic Afraha Stadium.
Machakos County
On Friday, July 29, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka plays the host of the Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate at a rally at Machakos Stadium.
Narok County
The Azimio campaign caravan will make its next stop in Narok County on Saturday, July 30, as Raila seeks to solidify his support in the Maa region.
The coalition will convene a rally at the Suswa Grounds.
Uasin Gishu/Nandi counties
On Sunday, July 31, Raila heads to his arch-rival William Ruto’s political backyard of Rift Valley, where he is set to hold two rallies.
Raila will visit Uasin Gishu County, where he will hold a rally at the 64 Stadium in Eldoret, before proceeding to Nandi County, where he will stage a rally at Kapsabet town.
Kiambu County
The first day of August will see the coalition head back to the Mount Kenya region and pitch tent in Kiambu County. The Kiambu tour will be wounded up in a rally at the Kirigiti Stadium.
Kisii County
After the Kiambu rally, Raila will then head to his backyard in the Nyanza region for a major rally at the Gusii Stadium in Kisii County on Tuesday, August 2
Kakamega County
Bukhungu Stadium will, on August 3, play host to the Azimio la Umoja brigade as the fight over the Mulembe voting bloc intensifies.
The ODM leader has traditionally enjoyed the unwavering support of the Luhya community, but Ruto has made some inroads in the region.
Kisumu County
Raila will hold his last rally in his Nyanza region at the newly constructed Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium on August 4.
Mombasa County
Raila’s 2022 second last campaign rally will see him take his campaign to the coastal region, where he holds a rally at Tononka Grounds.
Nairobi County
The Azimio faction will wind up its campaigns in the country’s capital on August 6 in line with the dictates of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
As per tradition, Nairobi County will play host to Raila’s final rally in the 2022 presidential race with a rally at Kasarani Stadium.
