Baby Sagini’s main suspect arrested with the detectives detailing why he gouged out the 3-year-old’s eyes.
The primary suspect in the case of a three-year-old boy who had his eyes gouged out in Kisii was arrested by police on Sunday.
Baby Junior Sagini’s cousin, Maina Ochoki, is thought to be the prime suspect in this crime.
According to police sleuths, Maina and his mother Pacifica gouged out Baby Sagini’s eyes to be used as a ritual.
As the investigation continues, the suspect was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
According to authorities, more suspects are sought as of Monday, December 19.
By Sunday, Sagini was due for discharge following the doctor’s advice.
Kisii Eye Hospital director Dan Kiage said the boy was responding well to treatment and ready for discharge.
“It is unfortunate he will not see,” he said.

Sagini had been in the company of other children when he broke away, only to be found with his eyes gouged out and writhing in pain.
Meanwhile, Detectives at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested Sagini’s mother.
The 28-year-old mother of a three-year-old baby was apprehended after visiting baby Sagini at the hospital on Sunday, December, 18.
“When I left my child was well, but now he is blind besides undergoing a lot of torture,” the mother stated.
The mother was lined to be arraigned in court on Monday, December 19. Additionally, she will be charged with parental neglect.
Reports also indicated that the mother abandoned the child with his father and a grandmother after an argument ensued, prior to the incident.
She allegedly left to work as a bar attendant in a nearby town.
