Canada partners with Kenya to fund select Kenyans with a Ksh15 million research grant for 18 months.

On Tuesday, May 23, the International Development Research Centre (DRC) of Canada and the National Research Fund (NRF) of Kenya invited interested Kenyans to submit concept papers for a chance to win a Ksh15 million grant for 18 months.

The concept notes that are provided should have the potential to offer solutions for disadvantaged populations’ income generation, nutrition, and food access, as well as for promoting sustainable agriculture and food systems and ensuring the viability of Kenyan agricultural goods.

Additionally, Kenyans were asked to contribute suggestions on how to scale up health research programs in order to mobilize funding for both research and development and to make the most use of already available resources.

“This national call will provide previously funded researchers and innovators in the health sector with the tools needed to commercialize their research results and connect with potential customers and investors,” read part of the statement.

The concept paper must be timely, with rapid implementation timelines to facilitate the generation of valuable outcomes.
