 Transport Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kipchumba Murkome heckled as he attempted to address Baringo residents. 

Transport CS Murkome was on on Sunday, November 26 on the receiving as residents heckled him while attending a football tournament at Kabarnet Showgrounds in Baringo county. 

Murkomen was invited to address the residents who had turned up to witness the football event.

However, as soon as the CS greeted the crowd, the audience started heckling, refusing to calm down to let Murkomen speak. 

The frustrated crowd was also heard chanting, ‘Ruto must go..Ruto must go.Ruto must go’ as the CS was making his address. 

Murkomen was forced to leave the podium unceremoniously as the crowd continued to shout at him. “This government is bad. They must quit,” some residents could also be heard saying.

Responding on tne incident, CS Murkomen explained the circumstances that led to his heckling at a football tournament.

Murkomen explained that the disturbance was as a result of perceived unaddressed concerns involving both players and fans.

He pointed out that the men’s finals were postponed due to protests by Baringo Youth FC from Kabarnet, Baringo Central, dissatisfied with their loss against Chemogoch FC from Mogotio.

“The officials did their best to resolve the matter, but the Baringo central team was not satisfied. Being the home team, and with their fans being more than half of the stadium, it was impossible to proceed with the match,” Murkomen stated.

“The players and the fans poured their frustrations on FKF officials, especially one Mr. Ruto, whom they felt, was not addressing their concerns. I appreciate all the volunteers who have so far made the OKM Peace Cup a success,” the CS added.
