Mystery surrounds the murder of four people whose bodies were found in a maize plantation near the Kenya Defence Forces Moi Barracks in Eldoret.
Police and witnesses said they were Sunday found in a trench near a maize plantation belonging to KDF.
According to reports, three bodies were discovered in different locations near the KDF installations in Kamagut.
Another victim died while undergoing treatment at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds.

The victims allegedly trespassed into the Ngano maize farm owned by KDF to collect maize remains after harvesting when they were cornered by the KDF officers and beaten to death.
Tension was high after hundreds of angry locals prevented the police from taking the bodies found on military land.
According to Turbo Deputy County Commissioner Charles Igiha, the incident happened following a confrontation between a group of men and KDF soldiers.
