Aroko also sent a message to Were’s family, stating, “To the family of Hon. Ongondo Were, the people of Kasipul and all those touched by his leadership, I extend my deepest condolences. May you find strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult period. Let us remain calm, united, prayerful, and peaceful as we mourn together.”

So far, police officers have arrested nine suspects in connection with the MP’s murder as investigations continue.

The late MP’s bodyguard, Allan Omondi Ogolla and his driver, Walter Owino, were apprehended on suspicion of their involvement in a criminal gang that orchestrated his demise.

Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen also revealed that Were’s close associates collaborated with his killers.

The MP was shot dead on Wednesday, April 30, in Nairobi evening traffic by a gunman whose accomplice was riding a motorbike.
