Human head suspected to be of murdered Rita Waeni recovered in Kiambaa dam by the detectives.

Police detectives have recovered a savoured head of a middle-aged lady at a dam in Kiambaa, Kiambu County.

According to Kiambaa police commander Pius Mwandhi, the head, suspected to belong to slain Jomo Kenyatta University (JKUAT) student Rita Waeni has been taken by the forensics team to ascertain whether it was linked to the Roysambu murder.

“We have a human head believed to be that of the slain woman but we will say more after a probe,” he stated.

The detectives also recovered the slain woman’s belongings, including a phone.

Detectives probing the murder case are now pursuing crucial leads they hope will lead to the apprehension of the culprit who they suspect was headed towards the Kiambaa direction after committing the heinous act.

The forensics team have also noted that the act was committed by a professional killer, assessing the way they cut off the head.

Revealed! Rita Waeni lifestyle and plans before her brutal murder

20-year-old Rita Waeni was found brutally murdered on Sunday, January 14, and her body parts were cut off in a short-stay apartment room in Roysambu along Thika Road.

Investigations surrounding the murder are being conducted, as police have arrested several suspects linked to the incident.

Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor on Friday revealed that explained that Waeni’s skin showed signs of deep cuts from a sharp object, however, her bones seemed to have been cut off with a hack saw.

The pathologist further added that the perpetrator attempted to pluck off the victim’s fingernails, to hide evidence.

“We think probably by clipping the fingers off, the person was trying to hide the evidence so that we fail to get his DNA from this victim,”

“In my entire forensic life, this is the first time I have come across such an incident,” he stated.
