Ex-husband abducts son, kills him and then hangs self
Ex-husband has abducted his son, killed him and then hanged self in Embakasi area, Nairobi
A family is in grief after their three-year-old son was taken and murdered in cold blood by his biological father.
Nancy Adhiambo’s ex-husband Victor Ayieko, 30, had crept into their house in Tassia estate and departed with the boy before killing him and hanging himself, according to DCI boss George Kinoti.
Adhiambo and her husband had gone out to fend for the family in the morning, and when they got home in the evening, they discovered their son wasn’t in the house.
Kinoti went on to say that she asked her neighbors about his whereabouts and learned that a man who matched her ex-description husband’s had been seen departing with the infant on a motorcycle.
“They immediately rushed to Ayieko’s house in nearby Mukuru kwa Njenga. And when they broke the door, they found the baby’s lifeless body was found sprawled on the suspect’s bed and Ayieko’s body hanging on an electric cable close by,” Kinoti explained.
On the table was a suicide note from Ayieko and Sh500, asking Adhiambo to buy airtime worth the amount and inform his entire family of his death.
Due to an upsurge in the number of missing children in city estates, Kinoti asked parents and guardians to ensure their children’s safety and security by entrusting them to responsible individuals whenever they are away.
Any case of child abduction or disappearance should be reported to DCI’s Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit.
