Uhuru Kenyatta allegedly moves out of State House ahead of Supreme Court ruling on presidential petition on Monday.

The widespread reports started circulating on Saturday, September 3 with pictures of moving trucks at the gate of the state house indicating they were transporting Uhuru’s personal items.

The reports were propelled by blogger Dennis Itumbi, who claimed that the incumbent President’s “personal cars were moved from State House garage and that his private items were also being moved.

“State House Watch…. Private Cars – Moved from SH Garage. Private stuff – Moved. Life and its Moments…. In less than 48 hours….” Itumbi wrote on his social media accounts.

A section of netizens picked up the story claiming president Uhuru Kenyatta was already leaving State House ahead of Supreme Court ruling on the presidential results.

However, circulating pictures of the moving trucks were not taken recently, as alleged.

The images of the trucks at the gate of state house were actually taken in 2013 when Uhuru was being inaugurated, and the insinuations that the photos are recent are therefore false.

Photos were taken by Journalists Larry Madowo and John Allan Namu and in April 2013.

“As the moving truck leaves Statehouse…#changeofguard,” Namu said on April 9, 2013.

“Moving company trucks leaving State House Nairobi ahead of @UKenyatta’s inauguration,” Madowo wrote on Twitter on the same day.
