Governor Natembeya hits out at for Raila using his supporters for personal gain

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has accused former Prime Minister Raila Odinga of using his supporters for personal gain

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has accused former Prime Minister Raila Odinga of using his supporters for personal gain rather than standing up for the people following the political alliance between Raila Odinga and President William Ruto.

Speaking in Trans Nzoia while distributing free seeds to small-scale farmers in Sikhendu, he said that he would be the voice of Kenyans against the government, especially now that the opposition has been weakened.

Natembeya further noted that he had taken it upon himself to speak on behalf of Kenyans and would continue to challenge the government on issues affecting the people.

“I have decided to offer myself to speak on behalf of Kenyans and I will not fear because it is the right thing to do. We have serious cross-cutting issues affecting Kenyans,” he stated.

He criticised the Kenya Kwanza government claiming that he was aware of a plan to silence him but insisted he would not back down.

“I know these people will come for me, but I am not afraid. I will continue to speak out on critical issues affecting Kenyans, and in doing so, I am not disrespecting the president,” he said.

Natembeya also dismissed the Ruto-Raila Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) agreement, calling it a misplaced priority.

He warned that the country was heading in the wrong direction, describing the broad-based government agreement as “a business for a few people in power.”

He also called Raila a political liar, accusing him of using Kenyans’ support to serve his personal interests in every election cycle.

“Raila did wrong to join this government because it tells a lot about what he believes in. He has had handshakes since the Moi regime, and nothing better came out of it. Even in the handshake with Ruto, Kenyans’ problems will not be solved,” he added.

He made it clear that his criticism of the government was not about undermining the presidency but about holding leaders accountable.

“I respect the president, and he even knows that. But what I am doing is just speaking for the people and highlighting the poor leadership in the country. This does not mean that I am undermining the presidency,” he clarified.
