Former presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has announced that he will run for president in the 2027 general election.
Speaking on Tuesday, December 3, Wajackoyah maintained that he is bitter with the current administration and that is why he will run for the top seat again.
The 2022 Roots Party presidential candidate, for instance, claimed that the recently rolled-out Social Health Authority (SHA) was put in place without public participation on the health fund.
“I am announcing officially that I will be on the ballot in 2027. I’m running again because I am bitter. I disagree with many people on how things are done. The health system used by the government is shambolic because it has copied and pasted foreign policy.
“We are not told of the originality of the policy. Was the public involved in the policy that touches their lives? If you look at our history as a country, we were the best in terms of healthcare. Some countries copied our policy,” Wajackoyah remarked.
He further stated that he would involve the young people in governance, claiming that he was the one who laid the foundation of the language used by them.

“I am a Gen Z of 65 years. I am the one who laid the foundation of the language to be used by the youth because they were afraid in the past,” Wajackoyah claimed.
His announcement comes after a number of leaders declared their intentions to run for the top seat in the 2027 general elections.
Among those who have set their sights on the presidency are former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi, Wiper leader Kalonzao Musyoka, activist Morara Kebaso and Busia senator Okiya Omtatah, who has formed a committee to assess his viability.
In the 2022 presidential election, Wajackoyah came third after garnering 61,969 votes.
