Low-cost airline Jambojet has announced flight disruptions after one of their aircraft crashed into a pole at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
In an update on Tuesday, December 3, the airline said the incident happened during their routine overnight maintenance activities.
According to Jambojet, the aircraft rolled off the ramp while parked, and came into contact with a pole that damaged its nose.
“We wish to report that no injuries occurred to our staff during this incident. Our team is working diligently with the authorities to investigate the matter and ensure all necessary measures are taken to prevent a recurrence.
“Safety remains our top priority, and we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards in all our operations. The aircraft has since been removed from operations until it is cleared,” the statement read in part.
As such, Jambojet said it anticipates some flight disruptions, and further apologized for inconveniences caused.

“We anticipate some flight disruptions due to this incident and affected guests will be communicated to directly. We apologize for the inconvenience cost, and reiterate our commitment to the safety of our staff and customers,” the statement concluded.
This comes about two months after the airline announced flight disruptions due to the unavailability of jet fuel at JKIA.
On September 26, 2024, the airline said while the fuel provider had resolved the issue, it would affect services throughout the day.
Jambojet apologized for the inconvenience, adding that it was working round the clock to minimize the disruptions.
“Due to a temporary disruption in fuel supply at JKIA, our morning flights are delayed. Our fuel provider has resolved the issue and we are now fueling ready for boarding. Unfortunately, this will affect our service throughout the day,” the airline said.
