Immigration PS Bitok announces fast-tracking of passport deliveries to eight centres across the country for one week.
In a notice dated Saturday, May 18, Principal Secretary Julius Bitok revealed that the exercise would commence on Monday, May 20 to Saturday, May 25.
The eight locations being targeted in the government programme include Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Embu, and Nakuru.
Kenyans who applied for passports in Kisii and Kericho will also benefit from the programme.
Therefore, applicants were advised to stay alert and take advantage of the fast-tracking programme.
“To enhance passport issuance, we’ve dedicated May 20-25, 2024 to the fast-tracking of passport delivery in all passport application centres across the country.
“Applicants who have received notification that their passports are ready for collection are advised to take advantage of the exercise,” the CS stated.

On the other hand, the PS indicated that it had extended operation hours at Nyayo House to facilitate the issuance of more passports.
The Nairobi office will be open between 9 am to 1 pm.
The rapid delivery initiatives were adopted following the acquisition of two printing machines. According to the government the machines can print close to 300 passports per hour.
“All 724,000 passports that were part of the historical backlog that had accumulated between June 2021 and March 2024 have now been printed, and 684,500 of them have already been collected by their holders,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Kenyans are set to receive passports within three working days from August 2024.
