Ruto makes several state appointments to government corporations

The government has announced several appointments in various state corporations.

In a statement on Friday, government spokesman Isaac Mwaura said the appointments have been made following a successful competitive recruitment process.

He added that it was in line with the concurrence of the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Koskei.

In the appointments, Philip Kiptanui Kirwa has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer, of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Abdallah Mohamed Hatimy has also been appointed Managing Director of the Kenya National Shipping Limited.

According to the government spokesman, the appointments take effect immediately.

Agnes Kalekye Nguna has been appointed as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).

Announcing the appointment, Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo noted that the appointment, which is effective immediately, will run for three years.

In addition, Engineer Joseph Mungai Kamau has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Athi Water Works Development Agency.

Government spokesman Isaac Mwaura announced the appointment by Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation, Zacharia Njeru on Friday.

Kamau has been serving as the acting CEO since September 2023. 

He has over 27 years of experience in the water and sanitation sector in Kenya.

Kamau holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi, a Master’s Degree in Environment Planning and Management from Kenyatta University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Hydraulics Engineering from the prestigious Hydraulics Research Institute in Cairo, Egypt.
