Police are on a manhunt for two suspects who reportedly stabbed to death a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier in a confrontation outside a hospital in Likoni, Mombasa County on Thursday.
The soldier was identified as Dennis Wesonga of the Kenya Navy, Mtongwe.
Police and witnesses said the deceased was in the company of friends at a private hospital when they suddenly started to quarrel.
The group had come to visit a female patient who was admitted at the facility. The confrontation forced security at the facility to order them out.
They continued to argue outside the hospital, leading to a fight.
Police and witnesses said it was then that Wesonga was stabbed in the stomach.

The assailants escaped the scene before the victim was rushed to Likoni Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries, police said.
Police were called to the scene and announced a hunt on the group is ongoing.
The police said the two suspects are known and efforts to get them for grilling are ongoing.
The motive of the incident is yet to be revealed.
The body was moved to Pandya mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
