Linda Mwananchi website hits nearly 25,000 members in one week; Edwin Sifuna

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has revealed that his newly launched political platform, LindaMwananchi.com, has attracted just under 25,000 members within its first week of operation.

Taking it to his X account on Saturday, March 21, 2026, Sifuna described the milestone as encouraging, while also urging supporters to keep perspective on the numbers.

“This level of engagement is remarkable, but it’s important to understand the broader context,” he said, highlighting that 25,000 supporters could influence local and regional electoral outcomes in Kenya.

The website was launched to gauge public backing for the “Sisi Ndiyo Sifuna” movement, allowing citizens to subscribe and show their support.

We closed the week at just under 25k pale https://t.co/Lzepj27OTT This is impressive lakini perspective ni muhimu. 25k will get you elected MCA in almost all the wards in Kenya, MP in a few constituencies and Senator in Lamu and Isiolo counties going by 2022 data. Mkae mkijua😀

The launch comes shortly after Sifuna regained prominence following his reinstatement by the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT) after being removed from his position as secretary-general of his party. The tribunal case is scheduled for mention on March 26, 2026.

After a brief pause during the Ramadhan festivities, the Linda Mwananchi team has resumed its political activities, with the first rally planned in Narok County, a region historically supportive of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

The rally is expected to mobilize grassroots support ahead of upcoming campaigns, with the platform aiming to strengthen citizen engagement and political participation across the country.

Sifuna’s initiative comes at a time of renewed political energy and demonstrates the increasing role of digital platforms in Kenyan politics.

By offering a direct channel for supporters to register and engage, LindaMwananchi.com seeks to build momentum for the senator’s wider political ambitions, while also fostering a sense of collective involvement among ordinary citizens.
