A police officer in Tana River County stabbed to death by his lover following a dispute at night.
Police sources state that the lover killed the officer assigned to Kilelengwani Patrol Base in the Tana Delta sub-county.
According to detectives assigned to the case, the two shared a rental unit at the Chuma Mrefu trading center.
Neighbors claimed that the cop and his lover’s furious dispute woke them up at three in the morning on that fateful day.
However, they were unable to determine what had caused the nighttime altercation.
The lover, a 35-year-old woman from Meru County is then said to have allegedly stabbed the police officer with a kitchen knife, as the fight escalated to the neighbouring plot.
Eyewitnesses added that the officer, who was bleeding profusely from the stab wounds, succumbed to the injuries on his neck and forehead moments later.
