A Man presents himself to police station after killing his wife and injuring the child in Samburu Village in Kwale County.

According to police sources, the man turned himself in on Tuesday at the Kanani Police post and admitted to killing his 25-year-old wife and hurting his 1-year-old child.

The sources further state that when the suspect showed up at the police station, he was accompanied by a companion.

The woman’s lifeless body was found lying in the family’s living room, with severe cuts on her skull and wounds on her upper body, hours after the man handed himself in.

Two fingers from her right hand had also been chopped off.

The police report further indicated that the child, who sustained serious injuries from the incident, is currently hospitalised at the Coast General Hospital.

“She sustained injuries on her head and skull from a deep cut”, stated Samburu Sub County police commander Lydia Mambo.

By the time of publishing this piece, the motive behind the murder was yet to be established.

The woman’s body has been moved to the Coast General Hospital awaiting an autopsy to facilitate further investigations.

Speaking to journalists after the incident, the police boss urged couples to solve family disputes amicably noting that there is always another better way of approaching conflict instead of resorting to the extreme.
