Miguna Miguna trashes UDA’s Nairobi line-up

Miguna Miguna has trashed the United Democratic Alliance party’s lineup for Nairobi top seats.

The lawyer claimed that the UDA party has given Nairobi residents a raw deal in the just-unveiled team of candidates who will fly the party’s ticket.

On Saturday, deputy president William Ruto brokered a deal that saw Bishop Margaret Wanjiru step down for Nairobi Senator Johnstone Sakaja in the Nairobi Governor race.

Bishop Wanjiru will now go for the Senate seat under the UDA party.

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga is the UDA party candidate for the Nairobi Woman Rep post.

The three candidates put forward by UDA for Nairobi’s top roles, according to Miguna, do not meet the criteria.

The lawyer presumably stated that if the three is elected in the August 9 elections, they will not deliver.

“Johnson Sakaja is disastrous… Margaret Wanjiru does not understand the role of the Senate in Kenya’s body politic. Millicent Omanga’s only contribution to Kenya is that she has the best dance moves in UDA,”

Miguna Miguna, who has already endorsed Ruto for president, ran for the Nairobi seat in 2017 but was defeated by former Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, who was impeached while in office.

The lawyer intimated that he will run for Nairobi governor, but he has yet to confirm if he will be on the ballot in the August 9 elections.

The UDA team, which was presented on Saturday, will face off against the Azimio One Kenya Alliance, which will be unveiled in due course.
