School opening dates to be on January 8 for ECD, primary, and secondary Schools as form one students report on January 15.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education on Christmas, pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools will open on January 8, 2024.

Meanwhile, students joining Form 1 will report to their respective schools on January 15.

In addition, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu issued a directive for field officers to be present at their duty stations on all working days, to assist parents in the necessary preparations for the upcoming 2024 school calendar.

“All field officers of the Ministry of Education have been advised to report to their duty stations on all working days to assist parents with necessary preparations regarding the 2024 School Calendar,” Machogu said in a statement.

Machogu at the same time urged parents and guardians to exercise utmost parental responsibility to appropriately guide their children during the festive season.

“Particularly, parents must caution their children against the dangers of drug and substance abuse that are most prevalent in some parts of the country. More importantly, parents and guardians should embark on the task of preparing learners to ensure they are ready for the 2024 school calendar,” he said.
