Muhammad Asghar, a 48-year-old Pakistani national, was shot and killed during an attack on a gathering of Islamic preachers in Garbatula, Isiolo County, while they were traveling to a ritual session.
A second Pakistani person was shot on Christmas Day and is presently receiving treatment in a hospital.
Eight Pakistanis and two Kenyans were among the victims when unknown shooters, who were perhaps bandits, ambushed their car in Kachuru, Isiolo County when they were en route to the yearly Islamic gathering in Garbatulla for Ijitmai.
In the chaos that ensued, the assailants fled the scene, leaving the occupants of the vehicle to seek safety.

There was nothing that was stolen from the victims, police said.
The preacher’s body has been transferred to the mortuary, awaiting autopsy and burial, according to officials.
The injured individual received medical attention at Garbatula General Hospital and has since been discharged.
Despite the prompt response of a multi-agency team to the scene, no arrests were reported even the police launch investigations.
