Pakistani preacher shot dead on Christmas Day in Kenya in banditry ambush

Pakistani preacher shot dead with another nursing injuries in hospital after banditry ambush in Isiolo County.

Muhammad Asghar, a 48-year-old Pakistani national, was shot and killed during an attack on a gathering of Islamic preachers in Garbatula, Isiolo County, while they were traveling to a ritual session.

A second Pakistani person was shot on Christmas Day and is presently receiving treatment in a hospital.

Eight Pakistanis and two Kenyans were among the victims when unknown shooters, who were perhaps bandits, ambushed their car in Kachuru, Isiolo County when they were en route to the yearly Islamic gathering in Garbatulla for Ijitmai.

In the chaos that ensued, the assailants fled the scene, leaving the occupants of the vehicle to seek safety.
