No need for opposition as Ruto’s manifesto resembles that of Azimio; Junet Mohamed

Junet Mohamed has stated that the opposition lacks defined roles, claiming that the policies implemented by the Kenya Kwanza government mirror Azimio la Umoja's manifesto
Suna East MP and National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohamed has stated that the opposition lacks defined roles, claiming that the policies implemented by the Kenya Kwanza government mirror Azimio la Umoja’s manifesto.
Speaking during the commissioning of the 33/11KV substation in Wundanyi on Monday, December 2, Junet argued that many of the promises being fulfilled by the government were also pledged by Azimio.
“The Azimio and Kenya Kwanza teams both had manifestos that included building houses, industries, and electrification. Right now, those are the projects we see being implemented. So what is there to oppose if work is being done? We are waiting for something to oppose, but so far, we haven’t found anything to oppose—I’m still waiting,” he said.
Junet further lamented the alleged hurdles facing President William Ruto, suggesting that these barriers are hampering his ability to deliver on his campaign promises.
He emphasised that the president should not have to consult excessively to fulfil his commitments to Kenyans.

“A government is elected to do its job. However, you find that the government is being hindered at every turn. It must conduct public participation, and seek permission from Members of Parliament, the Judiciary, and even the civil society. This habit of seeking everyone’s approval must come to an end, because when will the government work?” the ODM MP posed.
Addressing the controversial Adani-JKIA deal, Junet condemned the pressure on the president to cancel the contracts, arguing that renovating the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is essential.
“Where were these opinions when the decision to modernise JKIA was being made?” he questioned, urging critics to focus on the importance of infrastructure development.
