ODM leader Raila Odinga gifts a blind man for his moving Azimio Poem
ODM leader Raila Odinga has gifted a blind man for his moving Azimio Poem during a political rally in Kilifi.
The ODM leader Raila Odinga was captivated by a man’s beautiful piece of art dedicated to Azimio la Umoja.
Raila began a two-day tour of the coastal region to whip up support for his presidential campaign.
The journey began in Bamba, Kilifi County, with the ODM chief being treated to a poem written by Samuel Mwambogo.
Mwambogo, who is blind, based his poem on Raila’s handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He said that the cease-fire provided healing and the current state of peace in the country.
“Our peace is founded on Azimio la Umoja. Raila Odinga, please accept our warmest greetings. We’d want to see what goodies you have in store for us. Kenya would have been destroyed if it hadn’t been for the handshake. Because of your foresight, the country was saved.” read part of the poem.
Raila, who was intently watching, was moved by the poetry and rose from his seat to thank the poet.
Other Azimio leaders joined him, handing Mwambogo cash and other gifts.
