Raila goes on Ruto over “kitendawili and Mganga” tag
Raila goes on Ruto over the “kitendawili and Mganga” tag, asking him and his allies to stop the nickname going forward.
Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga has asked Deputy President William Ruto and his allies to stop calling him names.
William Ruto and his allies have been deliberately driving the Mganga and kitendawili tag on the former prime minister for a long time.
However, Raila now seems to have had enough of the tag and has openly come out asking him to stop.
Speaking at a political rally in Homa Bay yesterday, 3, June, Raila asked Ruto to stop referring to him using the Mganga nickname even as he asked him to prepare for resounding defeat in the August polls.
“Ruto ananitusi eti Mimi Mtu ya Kitendawili, kwani Kitendawili ya mamake?”- Raila Odinga posed at Oyugis
He keeps calling me mganga (witch doctor) and jamaa wa vitendawili (the old man who loves telling riddles). What he needs to know is that the country is ripe for change,” Mr. Odinga said.
Raila promises Ruto a resounding defeat
The Azimio presidential candidate also asked Ruto to prepare for a heavy defeat in the August polls.
Raila said he was confident of winning the presidency calling on Nyanza residents to come out and vote for him in large numbers.
“Bring it on. I will defeat you (Ruto),” said Mr. Odinga at a campaign rally at Agoro Sare High School in Homa Bay County on Sunday.“
He said the lake region stands to benefit immensely if he wins the presidency.
Raila said that should he win the presidency, he will ensure an improvement in the delivery of vital government services.
“You have seen what the region has benefited from within the short period of time that we have the government on our side (referring to handshake). Imagine the kind of development you will get if I become president,” Raila said.
