Report: Arsenal club favourites to sign Noa Lang, who’d shine alongside Saka

Arsenal club are eyeing £33m forward Noa Lang, with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta a big fan of the Club Brugge forward.

According to Jeunes Footeux, Arsenal is competing against Leicester for the signing of Lang.

The 22-year-old is a versatile player who has played in every midfield and forward position in his career.

He has mostly played on the left flank, but he has also made 19 appearances as a centre-forward or second striker.

Lang has also seen action in central midfield 29 times, as a No. 10 17 times, and on the right wing 27 times.

This season, the Netherlands international has been on the rise, catching the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

In his 26 games in the Belgian top tier this season, Lang has six goals and 11 assists.

He has two goals in the Belgian Cup and Supercup this season, as well as a Champions League assist.

Arsenal club has been keeping an eye on Lang for several months, according to Jeunes Footeux.

Arteta finds the Dutchman’s profile’very appealing,’ and the Gunners are ‘very interested in him.’

Brugge may seek 35 to 40 million euros (£29m to £33m) for Lang, according to the newspaper.

Arsenal’s left wingers are now Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe.

However, Smith Rowe’s primary position is at No. 10, but Arteta has the option of converting Martinelli to a center-forward.

“Good combination with Saka”

Last year, sports journalist and Club Brugge watcher Bart Lagae tipped the former Ajax ace to shine for Arsenal.

He reckons Lang would be superb playing in a front three featuring Bukayo Saka and a center-forward.

Lagae also feels the Brugge gem could also play on the right, deeming “better” than Nicolas Pepe.

“I think for Arsenal he [Lang] can play on both wings,” Lagae told football. london‘s The Arsenal Way.

“For instance, on the right, in Nicolas Pepe’s position.

“I would say he is even more focused on the goal and assisting than Pepe. He is probably a better player.

“He can have a good combination with Saka. Saka the player making runs and Lang the passer.

“Lang doesn’t go deep without the ball; he always asks for the ball.

“So, I think having him in combination with Saka and a striker… would work very well.”
