Revealed! Ruto forced to name half cabinet after Raila pulled out at the last minute

President William Ruto’s unity cabinet plan hit a snag after Raila Odinga pulled out at the last minute
President William Ruto’s unity cabinet plan hit a snag after Raila Odinga pulled out at the last minute.
According to reports, President William Ruto was forced to unveil half of his Cabinet after ODM leader Raila Odinga appeared to develop last-minute cold feet on the government of national unity.
Sources intimated that all was set until Thursday night, but Raila reportedly met a former political bigwig who reportedly dissuaded him from joining Ruto.
The bigwig and Ruto do not see eye to eye according to reports.
It remains unclear whether Raila will proceed with the deal, especially amid the sustained pressure from within his ODM party to abandon the idea.
Some leaders have warned the former prime minister that he risks ruining his legacy as a pro-people leader by accepting to join ‘a sinking’ government.
Sources said that on Friday morning, Raila asked Ruto to give him more time to consult.
This comes after revelations that Ruto had reserved seven cabinet slots to Azimio Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition.
However, the other Azimio affiliate parties are opposed to the idea of joining the Ruto government.
The affiliate parties are now actively exploring various options in charting a new political path without Raila, who is warming up to join Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Narc boss Martha Karua, Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) counterpart Eugene Wamalwa, and the Jubilee Party of former President Uhuru Kenyatta are said to be considering forming a new coalition or reverting to One Kenya Alliance (OKA).
Musyoka, Karua, Wamalwa and Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni have had a flurry of crisis meetings to weigh the political implications of the possible exit of Raila’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) from Azimio.
Musyoka insisted he and his friends, those still in Azimio, would not join the Kenya Kwanza government.
He said any coalition affiliate that chooses to join the government would be doing so individually.
