President William Ruto has sworn once more that he will not permit a coalition government (nusu mkate) with the opposition.
Speaking on Saturday in Kiambu, Ruto asserted that he will not submit to pressure from the opposition.
“Ile vitisho walikuwa nayo ndio wapate serikali ya nusu mkate haitafanyika tena. haiwezekani,” he said.
Ruto vowed to be tough on the Opposition, noting that he will work towards delivering his manifesto to Kenyans.
“Nitawakalia ngumu. Mtu anataka kuharibia watu biashara, habembelezwi,” Ruto said.
The opposition has, however, refutes the claims of a handshake insisting that their only interest is electoral reforms and the cost of living.
Allies of President Ruto have also accused the opposition of only being interested in sharing power with the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Speaking at the same event, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro advised President William Ruto to ditch the much-awaited dialogue with the Azimio coalition.
“Even that dialogue, I’m asking you President to leave it. I have listened to Kenyans who are our bosses and please leave that dialogue and continue working as Kenya moves forward,” he said.
The MP insisted that members of Kenya Kwanza will not allow a handshake between Ruto and the Opposition.
“As members of Kenya Kwanza we will not allow anything called handshake.No one will enter into our government through the window and no one will break the windows to enter the government,” Nyoro added.
