Ruto could easily have a handshake with Raila if it were not for DP Gachagua; Nyeri Governor

Nyeri governor Mutahi Kahiga says they deployed DP Gachagua to ensure Ruto does not have a handshake with Raila Odinga

Nyeri governor Mutahi Kahiga says they deployed DP Gachagua to ensure Ruto does not have a handshake with Raila Odinga.

Governor Mutahi Kahiga has dismissed any possibility of President Ruto having a handshake with Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party as opined by a number of political pundits.

The Nyeri Governor and close ally of DP Gachagua observed that Ruto was religious and sympathetic and would easily have a political handshake with Raila.

However, he noted that Gachagua’s presence would ensure this doen’t happen.

“Our president is very religious and may easily consider bringing Raila on board. He can do this because he does not want to miss heaven and be the good Christian he is. He may feel that not heeding his demands will leave him with a blemish. That is why we have the DP to ward off such thoughts,” Kahiga said.

In addition, Mutahi Kahiga rubbished claims that there was a rift between President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.

The county chief said the two leaders were closer than ever before.

He said there was no reason to make anyone believe there was either a fallout or looming fallout between Gachagua and Ruto.

“Those with claims that the president and the deputy president have fallen out need to change their glasses because whatever they see is false,” said Kahiga.

Kahiga statement comes amid political speculation that Raila and Ruto were planning to work together against the wishes of Gachagua and his political allies.

According to political analysts, speculations over Ruto, Raila handshake has forced DP Gachagua to consider reconciling with former president Uhuru Kenyatta as a counter to plans of the president and Azimio leader.
