Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha was Tuesday, January 9, appointed to the Global Alliance for Women’s Health Board of the World Economic Forum.

In a statement, Council of Governors (CoG) Chairperson Anne Waiguru expressed her delight at witnessing her close friend land a highly sought-after role on the international scene.

“What a proud moment for Kenya and a hearty congratulations to my sister CS Nakhumicha for your appointment to the World Economic Forum’s Global Alliance for Women’s Health,”

“Our UHC aspiration for all has an excellent ambassador in you on the global stage,” Waiguru remarked.

The World Economic Forum’s Global Alliance for Women’s Health Board is a strategic initiative established by the global finance institution to advance women’s well-being worldwide, promoting health equity, and driving collaboration among stakeholders to address key health challenges.

In her new role, CS Nakhumicha will focus on lobbying for women’s health rights and elevating them on a global platform.

The Cabinet Secretary will be among the board members tasked to build new evidence-based investment showcasing socio-economic returns for advancing girls’ and women’s health.

Furthermore, she will also be in charge of co-creating new narratives that resonate with stakeholders in the political, financial, and corporate spheres on why they should invest in women’s health.
