Ruto is the real commander of RSF in Sudan, not Hemedti – Gachagua
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua now has claimed that President William Ruto is the commander of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Speaking on Monday, April 7, Gachagua alleged that gold is being smuggled from Sudan through Kenya, and the money is being used to buy firearms for the paramilitary force.
“For the deaths occurring in Sudan, the real commander of RSF is not Hemedti, it is William Ruto because for a movement to succeed, it needs money. The money from gold is being cleaned through Kenya to buy arms to go and kill women and children in Sudan,” said Gachagua.
The former DP called on the international community to impose sanctions on President Ruto if they want to stop the Sudan war.
Gachagua argued that if sanctions are imposed on Ruto, he will stop entertaining Hemedti, and hence, there will be no smuggling of gold through Kenya, denying RSF money to buy firearms.

“I want to tell the international community, it is pointless to levy sanctions against Hemedti, the person you need to levy sanctions against is William Ruto and this issue of Sudan will be sorted out because if there are sanctions against him, he will stop entertaining Hemedti and there will be no money for RSF to buy firearms,” Gachagua stated.
He also revealed that he at one time refused to sign a letter inviting Hemedti to Kenya saying he would not be involved in the Sudan crisis.
Gachagua mentioned that his signature was forged to invite the RSF leader and after he learnt the move he threatened to disown the letter.
“I learnt that my signature was forged to invite Hemedti. I went and faced the President, I told him if this man lands in the country, on an invitation purportedly signed by me, I will disown him so the visit was canceled,” Gachagua narrated.
