Ruto meeting with Uhuru Kenyatta can’t change anything Mt. Kenya; Gachagua ally

Gachagua ally, MP James Gakuya says Ruto meeting with Uhuru Kenyatta won’t help him win Mt. Kenya.
Embakasi North Member of Parliament James Gakuya, a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), has criticised President William Ruto for meeting with former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He called the president’s surprise visit to Uhuru’s Gatundu home hypocritical and unnecessary.
Speaking to TV47 on Tuesday, December 10, Gakuya said Ruto’s visit to Uhuru’s residence led him to believe that the former president’s silence during Rigathi Gachagua’s ouster was due to his knowledge of the mission.
He also alleged that Uhuru Kenyatta approved Gachagua’s impeachment and supported Raila Odinga in forming a broad-based government with Ruto.

” Since Uhuru has never distanced himself from being the chairman of the Azimio fraternity, it tells me that he understands very well what Raila does and that they are in good communication,” he said.
He further predicted that the Uhuru-Ruto meeting would not help Ruto gain support from Mt. Kenya residents.
Gakuya asserted that Uhuru had previously attempted to promote Raila in the region during the 2022 General Election and failed, as decisions are made by the entire region, not an individual.
“Even today, there is nothing much he can do to change the minds of the people of the Mt. Kenya region. Take this to the bank; there is nothing. It is wrong for the head of state to do what he did, thinking that he can use the former president to get entry back to this mountain,” Gakuya said.
