Ruto modifies his yellow presidential standard, the official flag, only one month into office.

A month after revealing a yellow presidential standard during his inauguration ceremony at Kasarani stadium, President William Ruto has modified his official flag.

The green outline has been added to the yellow standard that was unveiled at his inauguration ceremony at Kasarani stadium one month ago.

The remaining elements of the flag, which include a black wheelbarrow, two crossed spears, and a shield in the colors of the Kenyan flag, have not changed.

Images from the State House’s official social media accounts reveal that the altered flag was unveiled for the first time on Friday of last week, when he was presented with credentials by ambassadors from Turkey, France, India, and Italy.

The previous standard was totally yellow and had a shield in the colors of the Kenyan flag, a black wheelbarrow, two crossed spears, and two crossed spears.

The modified standard was flown at Laikipia Air Base when he paid a visit to Nanyuki on Friday afternoon to commemorate Kenya Defence Forces Day.

A presidential standard is an official flag of the president, displayed alongside the national flag wherever the president visits and is pulled down as soon as he leaves the venue.

It is also hoisted on the right side of his official car while the national flag sits on the left side.

The flag is designed to the sitting president’s liking and in Kenya, its bears two spears and a shield to symbolize unity and readiness to defend the country’s freedom.
