Ruto pledges to continue working with his predecessor, Uhuru’s cabinet despite leaving office

Ruto hosted a farewell party for the outgoing cabinet secretaries during with he promised to continue working with his predecessor, Uhuru’s cabinet 

While holding an interactive session with outgoing and incoming Cabinet Secretaries on Thursday, November 3, Ruto acknowledged the work the ministers had done stating that he would not disregard their input in his government.

Further, the head of state wished them well as they proceed to other assignments.

“I think it is good to appreciate one another and work with one another in this manner. 

“I also want to tell everyone as I said earlier, I look forward to working with you in different capacities as good citizens of our country and as leaders,” Ruto stated.

Ruto hosted Uhuru’s CSs at State House Nairobi and was accompanied by his cabinet members sworn in after his inauguration.

In a photo of the event, the two sets of CSs can be seen sharing a laugh and chatting while seated at a dining table with President Ruto at the head of the table.

Former Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, who left government service after serving for decades, led  Uhuru’s Cabinet team.

During the farewell party, the head of state shared a meal with the set Cabinet.

The team was also entertained at the event with jazz music which was played in the background.

Ruto’s team praised him for the gesture and said that it was part of the president’s strategy to ensure a seamless transition from Uhuru’s cabinet to his.

“President William Ruto demonstrating how to handle a transition. Former and current CSs meeting the President,” Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi stated.
