Ruto responds to accusations of having a problem with anger management after losing temper at the Vihiga rally.
After being criticized for having a temper control issue following his outbursts at a Kenya Kwanza rally in Vihiga County, Deputy President William Ruto reacted has responded to the claims.
On Wednesday, July 13, while addressing a political gathering in Nyamonyo, Kisii county, Ruto said that the high cost of living in the nation was the cause of his displeasure.
He said that his rivals were unaware of the dire situation the nation was in, with Kenyans bearing the brunt of it all.
“My detractors are alleging that I have an anger problem, but who can laugh with the current economic situation in the country? We are not happy. There are Kenyans who sleep hungry because of the high cost of living. We are angry because things are not okay.”
“Those who are pleased with the current situation are ones who are not aware of the costly expenses of basic commodities. To my competitors, let us talk about issues that are affecting Kenyans on a day-to-day basis,” he stated.
DP Ruto’s response comes after a video clip emerged on July 13, where Ruto was captured reprimanding a supporter for causing chaos while he was addressing the crowd in Vihiga county.
Supporters of two camps, including ANC Vihiga governor candidate Alfred Agoi and UDA Sabatia parliamentary candidate Clement Sloya, frequently interrupted the DP’s speech.
“Let us have respect. If anyone has been sent here to cause chaos at our meeting, reveal yourself early or just leave. Young man, do not answer me. Who’re you to answer me? Do not bring trouble here and if you want, then leave,” Ruto lamented.
The DP’s speech was interrupted on a number of occasions by supporters of two camps; ANC Vihiga gubernatorial candidate Alfred Agoi and UDA Sabatia parliamentary Clement Sloya.
Capitalizing on the incident, a section of Azimio members have questioned Ruto’s conduct, noting that he’s not fit for the presidency.
