Ruto says he’s not ready for a handshake as he pours cold water on Raila Odinga over bipartisan talks with the Azimio coalition.

President William Ruto has maintained that he will not yield to what he termed as demands by the opposition to share positions.

President was speaking in Igembe North, Meru County to launch the upgrading of roads project in the county.

He was hosted on Saturday by Governor Kawira Mwangaza among other leaders, including Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi, Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Kathuri Murungi, and several MPs.

Addressing residents, Ruto took the opportunity to thank residents for voting for Kenya Kwanza during last year’s election.

“I want to say thanks. I am here to fulfill the promise I made that once we were done with elections, I would return to bring development,” he said.

In a swipe at Azimio leader Raila Odinga, Ruto said Kenyans made their choice on the leadership they wanted during the August 9 General Election.

“The way to development is not going to the streets with Sufurias on your head and making noise… the way to development is taking your seeds and going to plant in your shambas and getting your produce.”

Raila said that if the Azimio La Umoja team will not hear from President William Ruto on the way forward of their demand, Mandaamano will resume.
