Six Arrested for Heckling Martha Karua
Heckling Martha Karua; Six people have been arrested and charged at Kirinyaga court for causing disturbance and endangering lives.
Six people have been arrested in for heckling Martha Karua during her campaign tour in Kirinyaga county last week.
upon being named Raila Odinga’s running mate, Karua went had a series of political rallies in the Mt Kenya region.
However, during her campaigns in Kirinyaga, she was met by a hostile group of youths who attempted to disrupt her meeting.
And now six people have been arrested and charged for causing disruptions.
This comes after Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho ordered Kirinyaga County Commissioner Moses Ivuto to arrest those engaged in campaign hooliganism.

Kirinyaga Central Deputy County Commissioner, Daniel Ndege, warned of stern action against anyone found culpable of causing chaos during the electioneering period.
“There were some youths that decided to engage in uncalled for behavior in Kagumo, Kerugoya, and Kutus. We have them and we are still following leads to nab more,” said Mr. Ndege.
He also cautioned politicians against using young people to cause chaos noting that the government will not tolerate incitement during this campaign season.
“The government is on the lookout. Anyone engaged in hooliganism will be arrested and charged in a court of law. Parents should advise their children to keep out of trouble,” said Mr. Ndege.
He said pulling down campaign posters is also a crime and warned of impending arrests over the same.
