15 UDA MPs endorse Ndindi Nyoro to succeed William Ruto in 2032 in a move likely to anger Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Divisions are rocking the Mt Kenya political setting as different factions align to back their preferred leaders to succeed President William Ruto.

This is after a group of 15 Members of Parliament from different parts of the country endorsed Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro as their preferred presidential candidate in 2032.

This latest move has seemingly angered Mt Kenya region allies of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who is eyeing to succeed his boss President William Ruto.

By virtue of him being deputy president, it had been apparent that Rigathi Gachagua would automatically take over the mantle of Mt Kenya’s political leadership.

And while Nyoro might not have shown interest in the headship of the populous region, some of his colleagues believe he fits the bill.

About 15 lawmakers have chosen to throw their weight behind Gachagua, according to NTV.

“In Mt Kenya currently we don’t have an appropriate leader other than Ndindi Nyoro. Let us all support and walk with him,” said Elihja Njoroge, Gatundu North MP.

Also backing Nyoro as Ruto’s best replacement are MPs out of the Mt Kenya region. Nyoro, who is in his second term as the Kiharu representative in the National Assembly, has been hailed for his shrewdness, likable personality, versatility, and vibrance.

According to Shinyalu MP Fred Ikana, the Kiharu MP would bolster his outlook as a national leader if he forged friendships across the country.

The outdoing of Gachagua, according to analysts, has been his defensive concentration in Mt Kenya, leaving out other regions that matter.

“Nyoro should walk across the country and meet other leaders and make friendships,” Ikana counseled his Kiharu colleague.

Despite the MP’s outstanding appraisal, the people who support the deputy president have promised to stick with him.

Nyoro is among the leaders Gachagua had claimed to be mentoring in Mt Kenya.

However, there have been moments when opinion leaders in the region have seemed to despise the deputy president’s suitability to lead Mount Kenya.
