The turnout during Ruto's Mt Kenya tour shows he still enjoys support- Waiguru
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru now says President William Ruto still enjoys massive support from the Mt Kenya region based on the turnout of people during his tour of the region.
Speaking on Wednesday, April 2, during the opening of a Goat Artificial Insemination (AI) Center in Mwea Constituency, Governor Waiguru urged Mt Kenya residents to continue supporting President Ruto’s development agenda.
She noted that the President has not lost any political ground in Mt Kenya despite parting ways with his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.
“The turnout by people during this visit by the President clearly shows that he still enjoys support from the people, contrary to claims that the President has lost support or people have decamped to the opposition,” Waiguru stated.
The Kirinyaga Governor emphasized that the Mt Kenya region will reap more being in government than while in the opposition.
Waiguru also asked leaders to focus on delivering on their promises to the people instead of politicking.

“We will continue to support the President because we know the 2027 politics will be decided purely on performance. Let’s continue to support and work with President Ruto for the sake of development,” said Waiguru.
She pointed out that many projects in the Mt Kenya region have come about as a result of collaboration between the county and national government.
At the same time, Governor Waiguru expressed gratitude for Kirinyaga hosting the Goat AI Center, noting that the project is a key milestone for the country.
“We are particularly honored to host the Goat AI Center at Ndomba, which is not only a great treasure for our county but also a key development milestone for our country. This center is a significant step forward in improving goat production and food security in Kirinyaga County,” she said.
Further, Waiguru mentioned that the upgraded Kagio market will accommodate about 1,000 more traders, providing ample, hygienic, and well-organized safe spaces for trading.
