Two Meru University students charged with gang-raping a 7-year-old girl
1 min readTwo Meru University students were arraigned in Meru court on Monday morning to answer charges of gang-raping a 7-year-old girl.
The two students identified as Brian Munjalu and Francis Chepkosi of the Meru University of Science of Technology, are said to have committed the act on January 10, 2022, in Kinyeria village, Tigania West.
Principal Magistrate Faith Munyi of the Tigania Law Courts, on the other hand, chose to hold the two for a bond hearing on January 17, 2022.
On the aforementioned date, the suspects allegedly enticed the youngster to their home as she walked home from school.
Munjalu allegedly ordered the minor to undress, which she refused, before forcibly undressing her and having them take turns on her.
The girl returned home after the incident, where her mother found her crying outside the gate.
The mother reported the matter to the Nchiru Police Station.
Four witnesses have been gathered to testify against the two University students, according to Senior State Counsel Michael Mutune, who denied bond for the accused due to accusations that they were flight risks.
