Chelsea to ban parents from stadium whose children who invade the pitch

Chelsea stadium ban; Parents or guardians who allow their children onto the pitch will face the stadium ban.

Similar procedures have been implemented by Leeds United in reaction to young supporters running onto the pitch after full-time to interact with players or request shirts.

Following Chelsea’s home Carabao Cup semi-final first leg on 5 January, a young fan came onto the pitch and charged goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Those who break the rules will face “lengthy stadium suspensions,” according to Chelsea.

A club statement said: “Chelsea Football Club wishes to remind supporters that encroaching onto the pitch before, during or after matches is a criminal act and can result in serious punishment for the club, fans and, in the case of minors, their parents or guardians.”

It added: “In the case of minors entering onto the playing surface, the parent or adult ticket holder accompanying them is deemed responsible for their actions and will also receive a ban from attending future matches.”

Chelsea’s stadium regulations “have never been more critical” than during the epidemic, as the pitch and touchline sections are part of the matchday red zone, which aims to keep the virus from spreading.
